Superior Sanitation and Waste Management both pick-up garbage on Wednesdays.  If garbage day falls on any of these six holidays; New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving or Christmas, garbage pick-up will be on Thursday.

 

Recycling bags can be purchased from Superior Sanitation for $1.00/bag.  You can visit their web site for approved recycle materials.  Remember, if you place large cardboard boxes next to you garbage pick-up, they will not be recycled.  All recyclables need to be in the recycling bags.

Please do not pour toxics down household drains, down a storm drain or dispose in your trash.  Washtenaw County offers a disposal service free of charge.  The Home Toxics Reduction Center offers a permanent drop-off site where residents can dispose of a wide variety of home toxics.  Click here for directions and hours.  You can also call the hotline number at (734) 222-3950 to make arrangements for an appointment.

There are two local recycle options for Scio residents.  The Ann Arbor Recycle Center accepts a multitude of items.  There is a nominal fee based on the amount of material being dropped off. (Cash or checks only)

 

Scio Township offers a free recycling service to Scio Township residents sponsored by the Scio Township Board of Trustees.  It is the third Saturday of every month from 8 AM to Noon.  Click here for more information and recycled items.
